Waste Compound Construction – Healthcare Facility

Location: Yeovil District Hospital

We delivered the construction of a new, fully secure waste compound within a live hospital environment, designed to improve operational efficiency and site management.

The project included full site clearance, groundworks, and construction of a purpose-built structure featuring masonry walls, a timber roof, and high-performance cladding. Associated works included drainage, electrical installations, fire alarm systems, perimeter fencing, and footpath alterations.

A key feature of the scheme was the installation of a fully automated 12m cantilever access gate and concrete apron to accommodate waste compactors, providing a safe and efficient solution for waste handling.

Working adjacent to the women’s hospital required careful planning and close collaboration with stakeholders to manage noise, dust, traffic, and working hours. Through detailed programming and proactive communication, the project was delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
